Hello, my name is Joanne. Nice to meet you! 

I was born in Hong Kong and moved to Canada when I was six years old. Growing up, my family speaks to me in Cantonese so I'm bilingual in Cantonese and English. After graduating from the University of Toronto with an Honors Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Geography, I went back to Hong Kong for work. Working in Hong Kong for ten years has deepened my understanding of Chinese culture and language. I love both languages and use them daily with my family and friends.

I am now back in Canada and have been teaching children for over 10 years. I am a TESOL-certified online ESL teacher and currently teaching online ESL English and Cantonese to children in the US, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Korea from ages 3-13.

I believe you will learn best when you are enjoying what you are doing. I love to make my students smile and laugh. I will use my bilingual skills and my experience with children to help each student learn their best. My classes are fun, engaging, and educational.
